Joyce Plumb, age 97, of Newtown Square died February 2 in her residence at Dunwoody Village. She was predeceased by her husband William Whitney Smith, and a daughter, Joyce Correa-Meyer. She will be greatly missed by her surviving children, William Whitney Smith Jr., Cara Smith Walker and Joseph Hudson Plumb Smith, as well as her fifteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly. A sports enthusiast, she rode horses in her younger years, played tennis until she was 85, and followed Philadelphia sports closely until her death. In addition to volunteer work at the Emergency Aid of Philadelphia Foundation, she was a member of The Mayflower Society and The National Society of Colonial Dames of America. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 April 6 at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church in Radnor, Pa., followed by a reception at Bolingbroke. www.maugergivnish.com
